Two pitchers from Tennessee Wesleyan were among the 38 NAIA players who were selected last week in the MLB draft. Ryan Hartman was drafted in the 9th round by the Houston Astros, while Chevis Hoover was selected by the Miami Marlins in the 32nd round.

Hartman, a senior from Anaheim, California, pitched in 17 games for the Bulldogs and had an ERA of 0.64, which was the best among NAIA players. He was 10-1 with the only loss being to Faulkner in the final game of the Tennessee Wesleyan season. Hartman had 129 strikeouts for the season and 12 walks.

Hoover, a senior from Estill Springs, TN, appeared on the mound in 21 games for TWC and was 5-3 with one save. He had 72 strikeouts for the Bulldogs and an ERA of 3.13. Hoover also appeared at the plate for Tennessee Wesleyan has a designated hitter in 29 games. He had three homeruns for the season and 20 RBIs.
