No. 3 Seed Baseball Falls at Avista NAIA World Series

LEWISTON, Idaho- It was a tough day for the baseball team at the 2025 Avista NAIA World Series on Monday. The third-seeded Bulldogs were not able to get the bats going as they fell to No. 2 seed Georgia Gwinnett College 14-0.

Trailing 2-0, Corbin Shaw got on base with a single in the second inning. A fielder's choice on Brayan Espinoza at-bat quelled the momentum though and the third out of the inning was recorded before the team could score a run. A hit by Kruise Newman in the third inning did not turn into a run and in the fourth inning, Daniel Stewart and Shaw both got on base before the third out would be recorded. Newman recorded a second hit in the game in the fifth inning, and both Espinoza and Devin Dixon got on base with singles in the sixth but neither could get turned into runs before the opponents extended their lead.

TWU (47-13) will play an elimination game against No. 5 seed Webber International University on Tuesday. The game is set to begin at 2:00 p.m. ET/11:00 a.m. PT.
