Volleyball Sweeps Welch

GALLATIN, Tenn.- The volleyball team went on the road and got a commanding 3-0 victory on Thursday. TWU swept the Welch College Flames.

The Lady Bulldogs stormed out to a 5-0 lead behind Savannah Jones' kills and Alley Hibdon's steady setting. Amya Sutton and Audra Capps added points at the net, while Gracelyn Jackson dropped in an ace to extend the margin. Jones capped the frame with a service ace to secure the 25-13 win.

Tennessee Wesleyan dominated from start to finish, building a double-digit cushion early. Hibdon fired back-to-back service aces to spark the run, while Kianna Wickham and Sutton contributed at the net. Nyah Hudson and Bailey Dalton added kills as the Bulldogs rolled to a commanding 25-7 victory.

Welch kept the third set closer, but Tennessee Wesleyan's depth proved decisive. Hudson and Sutton fueled the offense, while Jones delivered late with consecutive aces and a kill. Hibdon closed the match with another putaway, sealing the sweep with a 25-15 finish.

Jones led the offense with nine kills while Sutton, Hibdon, and Hudson all had eight kills. Hibdon aided the offense with 16 assists.

TWU (7-4) will play their first home match of the season on Tuesday against Toccoa Falls College. The match is set to begin at 6:00 p.m.
