Men's Golf Climb Up Leaderboard at Bojangles Invitational

VONORE, Tenn.- The men's golf team hosted the Bojangles Invitational on Saturday and Sunday. The tournament was played at The Links at Kahite in Vonore, Tenn. The tournament consisted of three rounds.

After the first round, the Bulldogs sat in seventh place after combining for a score of 312. The team moved up the scoreboard in the second round to fifth place by shooting a 286 and moved up another spot in the third round with a 290. The 888 three-round score helped TWU finish in fourth place.

Dalton Sutton played the first two rounds of the tournament at even par (72) and finished the third round with a 73 to have a 217 total to finish tied for sixth place. Josh Loveday also finished in the top ten, shooting 78, 71, and 70 for a total score of 219 to finish in a tie for 10th place. A score of 221 helped Jacob Parton (81, 71, 69) finish in 17th place while Cody Skipper was tied for 29th after rounds of 81, 72, and 78 for a total score of 231. JT McKenzie hit 81, 73, and 81 in the tournament for a total of 235, placing him in a tie for 44th place. 

Playing as individuals, Dodj Watson (81, 77, 78) and Owen Kreuger (76, 87, 73) both finished tied for 46th with a total score of 236. Logan Oody carded scores of 83, 84, and 86 to finish in 71st with a score of 253 while Tyler Harwell had scores of 98, 94, and 99 to finish in 74th place with a score of 291.

The schedule sees the Bulldogs play one more tournament during the fall portion of their schedule. The team will play at the AAC Fall Preview on Oct. 28-29 at Barnsley Gardens in Adairsville, Ga.
