Alcala Named to NAIA All-American Third Team

KANSAS CITY, Mo.- For the second time in her playing career, Olivia Alcala was named an All-American by the NAIA. The sophomore student-athlete was named to the 2024 NAIA Women's Tennis All-American Third Team for her play during the season. Honorees were selected by the NAIA All-America Selection Committee. Sixteen student-athletes were chosen to comprise first, second, and third teams. This is the first time the NAIA has named a third team. In 2023, Alcala became the first women's tennis player in program history to be named to the First Team.

MOBILE, Ala.- The women's tennis team returned to the courts at the 2024 NAIA Women's Tennis National Championship on Thursday. The sixth-seeded Lady Bulldogs were playing in the quarterfinals as they faced the No. 3 seed Lindsey Wilson College Lady Blue Raiders for a trip to the semifinals.

The team's first match came in the second round after getting a bye past the first round. The sixth-seeded Bulldogs faced the No. 11 seed Louisiana State University-Alexandria Lady Generals.

Kansas City, Mo.- For the fifth time in program history, the women's tennis team is heading to the national tournament. The team knew they were going to the 2024 NAIA Women's Tennis National Championship Tournament as they earned the automatic bid from the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) by winning the program's first-ever AAC Tournament Title. The AAC Regular Season Champions were waiting on the announcement of the bracket for the tournament, which was announced on Tuesday by the national office.

The No. 1 seeded Lady Bulldogs advanced to the championship match of the 2024 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Tennis Championship Tournament, where they faced the No. 2 seed in the tournament, the Union College Lady Bulldogs.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.- The women's tennis team, the No. 1 seed in the 2024 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Tennis Championship Tournament, returned to the courts at the tournament on Friday. After winning their opening round contest in the quarterfinals, the team played for a chance to go to the championship game in the semifinals against the fourth-seeded SCAD Atlanta Lady Bees.

The women's tennis team, as virtue of winning the 2024 AAC Regular Season Title, entered the tournament as the No. 1 seed. Their opening round match was against the No. 8 seed, the Truett McConnell University Lady Bears.

ATHENS, Tenn.- The women's tennis team, ranked No. 6 in the NAIA, played their last home match of the 2024 season on Wednesday. The team entered the match having already guaranteed themselves a share of the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Regular Season Title. A win against the No. 23 Reinhardt University Lady Eagles would give the Lady Bulldogs the title outright and the No. 1 seed in the upcoming tournament.

ATHENS, Tenn.- The women's tennis team was back in action on Thursday. After playing a conference match the previous day, the sixth-ranked Lady Bulldogs played a non-conference match against the University of Montevallo, a NCAA Division II opponent. The match between the two teams was played in a clinch format, meaning the match would end after the first team scores four points.
