Peyton Nabs Second AAC Weekly Award

WALESKA, Ga.- Tennessee Wesleyan saw a player from the baseball team take home a weekly award from the conference on Monday. Blake Peyton was named the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Pitcher of the Week by the conference office. This was the sixth edition of the award. 

The pitcher helped the Bulldogs pick up two wins during the week. In his first appearance on the mound, the senior picked up a save when he came in and struck out three batters in an inning of relief in a 8-6 win for the team. The next day, the San Diego Calif., native returned to the mound in relief, pitching five innings and striking out seven batters, making his strikeout total 10 on the week. Peyton also did not surrender a run while only giving up one hit and one walk in the 5-1 win against Bryan College. 

This is the second weekly award for Peyton this season. The next edition of the award will be announced on Monday, April 1.
