Men's Golf Finishes Second at AAC Championship

ADAIRSVILLE, Ga.- The men's golf team played for a conference championship on Monday and Tuesday. Along with the chance at a championship, the team was also playing for an automatic bid to the NAIA National Championship Tournament at the AAC Direct Qualifier. The tournament was played at Barnsley Gardens Resort and featured three rounds played over two days. The course featued a Par of 72 and was 6,992 yards long.

Through the first two rounds, the Bulldogs held the lead on the team scoreboard. TWU shot 305 and 295 through the first two rounds for a total of 600. By the end of the third round though, the team dropped to second place, after shooting 310 and finishing with a 910 team score.  

All the golfers in the tournament for the Bulldogs finished in the top 20 of the field on the individual scoreboard.

Josh Loveday, who also led in the tournament, finished on the All-Tournament Team with a second-place finish in the tournament. Loveday shot 73, 72, and 75 for a three-round total of 220. JT McKenzie was tied for sixth in the tournament, shooting 79, 69, 79 to record a 227 total for the tournament. A score of 234 after rounds of 74, 79, and 81 helped Joe Britton finish in a tie for 14th while Bradley Dunkle was tied for 16th after finishing with 235 (82, 78, 75) through the three rounds. Dunkle's final round score helped him move 10 spots up the individual leaderboard. Jacob Parton was tied for 20th after carding scores of 79, 76, and 82 for a total score of 237. 

McKenzie and Britton were named to the All-Conference Second Team.
