No. 7 Men's Lacrosse Scores Six Unanswered in Neutral Site Win

Black Mountain, N.C.- The men's lacrosse team, ranked seventh in the NAIA, went on the road for a neutral site game on Thursday. The team went to Black Mountain, N.C., home of Montreat College, to face the University of Michgian-Dearborn Wolverines.

The opponents scored the first two goals of the game. Tennessee Wesleyan responded with five straight goals. Four of them came in the first quarter, starting with Hayden Harmon scoring on a Robert Holekamp assist. Holekamp scored the next goal for the team while Wes Christian scored on a Carson Bowling assist to give the team a 3-2 lead. Holekamp scored the next goal for the team off a Driscoll assist to make the lead 4-2 at the end of the first quarter.

Driscoll collected another assist in the opening minutes of the second quarter, this time on a Harmon goal. A low-scoring quarter ended with Michigan-Dearborn scoring the only other goal of the quarter, making the score 5-3 at halftime.

The teams exchanged goals out of the halftime break with Matthew Tullock scoring for the Bulldogs off a Jackson Lollis assist. The opponents scored the next two goals, putting the game in a 6-6 tie. Kennedy Moore broke the tie with 2:05 remaining in the third quarter, setting TWU on a streak of six unanswered goals to end the game.

Harmon recorded his third goal on a Holekamp pass to move the lead to two goals. Moore scored another unassisted goal before Driscoll assisted on the next three goals. Bowling scored two of them to go along with the final goal of the game by Lollis, giving the Bulldogs a 12-6 win.

Harmon scored three goals while Bowling, Holekamp, and Moore had two goals each. Driscoll had five assists and Jack Shaw had 13 saves in the net.

Up next for Tennessee Wesleyan (3-1, 1-1 AAC) is a four-game homestand, beginning with a conference matchup against No. 10 Webber International University. The game is set to begin at 2:00 p.m.
