(RV) Men's Lacrosse Wins Senior Day Contest Against SCAD Savannah

Athens, Tenn.- It was Senior Day for the (RV) men's lacrosse team on Saturday. Along with honoring their seniors, the team faced the SCAD Savannah Bees in an Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) game.

Tennessee Wesleyan raced out to a 4-0 lead in the first quarter. Jack Driscoll assisted on the first two goals by Robert Holekamp and Hayden Harmon and scored the third goal of the game on a Conner Grisar assist. Jackson Lollis scored the final goal of the four-goal streak on a Kennedy Moore assist to give the team the lead. The opponents scored the final two goals of the quarter.

A goal by Harmon to open the second quarter made the score 5-2. After a goal by SCAD Savannah, Lollis, and Kyle Gasior scored back-to-back to extend the lead to four goals, making the score 7-3. The opponents scored two of the next three goals though, with Driscoll scoring for the Bulldogs, and the scoreboard read 8-5 at halftime.

Lollis opened the second half with a gal off a Driscoll assist, extending the lead to four goals. Holekamp, who scored on a Jaylan Steen assist, gave the team their tenth goal of the contest with the score 10-6. SCAD Savannah scored the final two goals of the quarter to make the score 10-8 to begin the fourth quarter.

A defensive fourth quarter saw three goals scored between the two teams. Fortunately, TWU scored two of the three. Holekamp made the lead three goals with the first goal of the final quarter and Lollis followed by scoring on a Harmon pass, helping the Bulldogs win the game 12-9.

Lollis led the team with four goals while Holekamp added three goals. Harmon and Driscoll each scored two goals for the team while Gasior had one goal. Jack Shaw had 12 saves in the net.

Tennessee Wesleyan (5-4, 2-2 AAC) will be back in action on Wednesday as the team hosts No. 3 Reinhardt University in a conference game. The game is set to begin at 3:30 p.m.
