Men's Lacrosse Concludes Season at AAC Tournament

Williamsburg, Ky.- The men's lacrosse team played in the opening round of the Appalachian Athletic Conference Tournament on Friday. The team, the No. 5 seed in the tournament, traveled to the home of the University of the Cumberlands Patriots, the No. 4 seed, for the tournament game. 

The first quarter was unkind to the Bulldogs as the offense was only able to score one goal. Kennedy Moore scored the goal off a Robert Holekamp assist. The quarter ended with the team trailing 5-1. 

The hole drew keeper in the opening minutes of the second quarter as Cumberlands scored three consecutive goals. The teams used goals by Matthew Tullock, Hayden Harmon, and Jackson Lollis to get closer to the Cumberlands score. TWU went into the halftime break trailing 9-4. 

Out of the halftime, the opponents scored three consecutive goals to increase the deficit. Holekamp and Harmon scored at the end of the third quarter to make the score 12-6. 

The offense was not able to find the goals necessary to extend the game. Lollis and Jaylan Steen added goals for the Bulldogs but the team went on to fall by a final score of 19-9. 

The team finishes the season with an 8-7 record and a 4-4 conference record.
