47 Spring Student-Athletes Earn Daktronic NAIA Scholar-Athlete Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo.- The 2025 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes for spring sports was released by the national office. This honor recognizes student-athletes in each of the fall sports who have excelled academically including baseball, softball, men's and women's track and field, men's golf, men's and women's lacrosse, and men's and women's tennis. Tennessee Wesleyan had 47 student-athletes across the five sports earn the honor.
Three Men's Tennis Members Named NAIA All-Americans

KANSAS CITY, Mo.- The 2025 NAIA Men's Tennis All-American Teams were announced by the national office on Thursday. Octavio Volpi, David Leon, and Juan Carlos Garcia from the men's tennis team were named to one of the three teams. Honorees were selected by the NAIA All-America Selection Committee. Sixteen student-athletes comprise the first, second, and third teams.

MOBILE, Ala.- The men's tennis team fell in a battle to the No. 3 seed Keiser University on Friday. The team fell by a final score of 4-2 in the semifinals of the 2025 NAIA Men's Tennis National Championship Tournament.

KANSAS CITY, Mo.- The men's tennis team earned an automatic bid to the 73rd Annual UTR Sports NAIA Men's Tennis National Championship Tournament by winning the 2025 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Tournament Title. The team found out their seed and path to the red banner as the bracket for the upcoming national tournament was released on Tuesday. The tournament is set for May 13-17 at the Mobile Tennis Center in Mobile, Ala.

KANSAS CITY, Mo.- In the final edition of the 2025 NAIA Men's Tennis Coaches' Top 25 Poll, the men's tennis team stayed at the No. 2 spot. The poll was released on Wednesday. Tennessee Wesleyan has been ranked No. 2 in every regular-season poll during the 2025 season.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.- The men's tennis team returned to the court at the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Tournament on Friday. The top-seeded Bulldogs were facing No. 4 Milligan University in the semifinals of the tournament and walked off the court with a 4-0 win.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.- The men's tennis team opened play in the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Men's Tennis Championship Tournament on Thursday. As the 2025 AAC Regular Season Champions, the Bulldogs were the No. 1 seed, slotting their opponent as the No. 8 seeded Columbia College Koalas. Tournament play is a first-to-clinch format, meaning the team to score four points wins the match. In this instance, TWU was the first team to four points in a 4-0 win. The tournament is being played at the Champions Club in Chattanooga, Tenn.

On Tuesday, Leon earned the national honor as he was named the NAIA Men's Tennis Player of the Week. The winner of the national weekly award is chosen out of a pool of conference/Continental Athletic Conference (Independents)/unaffiliated group and independent institution nominees.
