Four Goals in Second Half Propel Men's Soccer Over Bryan

ATHENS, Tenn.- Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) rivals met on the field at the TWU Athletic Complex on Tuesday. The men's soccer hosted the Bryan College Lions in a conference showdown.

The balance between the two teams was fairly equal in the first half. Tennessee Wesleyan outshot Bryan 6-3 and took three corner kicks to the Lions two. Neither team found the net though as shots by Dave Neijenhuis, David Tayau, and Wynand Wessels missed the mark, sending the game into halftime in a scoreless tie.

TWU tipped the scales in the second half. Bada Sady broke the tie, scoring 14 minutes into the second half. Wessels scored two goals over the next eight minutes, extending the team's league out to 3-0. One more goal came late in the game as Luis Baldivieso scored on a Michael Garrihy free kick assist, making the final score 4-0 as the team won its third consecutive game in shutout fashion.

The win moved the team's record to 5-2-3 overall and 5-0-1 in the AAC. The schedule takes the team back on the road for their next game, a conference contest against Columbia College on Friday at 6:00 p.m.
