Wessels Nabs AAC Weekly Award

WALESKA, Ga.- The final edition of the men's soccer weekly awards was announced by the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) on Monday. Wynand Wessels was named the Defensive Player of the Week in the 11th edition of this season's weekly award.

Wessels took home the award based on his play against Columbia International University in the opening round of the AAC Tournament. In the win, the midfielder helped the defense keep the opponents out of the net in the shutout. The Pretoria, South Africa native also assisted on the game-winning goal in the 1-0 victory.

This is the first weekly award for Wessels.
