Men's Tennis Make History as NAIA National Championship Runner-up

Mobile, Ala.- For the first time in program history, the men's tennis team competed for a national championship at the NAIA National Tournament. The team, seeded fourth in the tournament, faced the No. 2 seeded Georgia Gwinnett College Grizzlies for the national championship.

The battle commenced between the two teams in the doubles. The first two doubles match to finish were split by the two teams with the Bulldogs winning the No. 3 doubles match. Unfortunately, the opponents won the remaining doubles match to take the doubles point and a 1-0 lead into the singles. 

The fight between the championship opponents continued in the singles matches. TWU was unable to turn the momentum in their favor though as Georgia Gwinnett won three singles matches to clinch the match by a score of 4-0.

The Bulldogs (22-2) finished as the national championship runner-up for the first time in program history. The team tied the record for most wins in program history with their 22 victories this season and set the program record for conference wins with 10. The team also accomplished:
