Men's Tennis Take Home Multiple Awards From AAC

ATHENS, Tenn.- The men's tennis team took home a swarm of awards from the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) at the end of the season. The awards were voted on by the coaches of the conference.

Octavio Volpi was named the Men's Tennis Player of the Year. Volpi was undefeated in singles play and did not lose a single set in the No. 1 singles spot. In doubles play, as the No. 1 doubles, Volpi only fell one time in conference matches. Volpi was named the AAC Player of the Week three times in the five editions of the award in 2024.

Agustin Gaia was named the Freshman of the Year. Gaia won all his matches in singles play for the Bulldogs while only falling once in doubles play.

Joining Volpi on the All-AAC First Team was German Delcanto, Patricio Gallegos, and Sabi Roi

David Leon and Zoilo Rios were named to the All-AAC Second Team. 

Gaia, Asier Pascual, Benjamin Poblete, Maceo Simpson were named to the All-Freshman Team.

Head coach Francisco Gallardo was named the Coach of the Year for the fourth consecutive season after leading the team to an 8-0 record in the AAC.
