Josh Parson Named USTFCCCA South Region Men's Track Athlete of the Year

New Orleans, LA- During their travel to Pittsburg, KS for the NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships, a member of the #16 men's indoor track and field team at Tennessee Wesleyan received good news. The United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced Josh Parson the South Region Men's Track Athlete of the Year.

The senior from Evensville, TN started the season off with a bang as the first meet of the season saw him run the fastest time in the NAIA in both the 60m and 200m Dash. Parson continued to exceed his previous performances, eventually breaking the school records in both events he ran. His times of 6.71 in the 60m Dash and 21.26 in the 200m Dash currently sit at #2 in the NAIA but are the top times in the South Region.

Parson won the conference championship in both events at the Inaugural Appalachian Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships. Along with the wins in his two events giving him the most points on the male side, Parson left the meet held in Winston-Salem, NC as the AAC Men's Track Athlete of the Year. Parson won multiple AAC Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week Award and was named National Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week once this season by the NAIA.

Parson is one of six members on the men's indoor track and field team who will be competing tomorrow afternoon. Parson will run his first event, the prelims of the 60m Dash, at 2:35 PM CST.
