Men's Cross Country Places 13th at Royals XC Challenge

Charlotte, N.C.- The men's cross country returned to the course the team ran at two weeks ago in Charlotte, N.C., on Friday. TWU traveled back to the city for the Royals XC Challenge, a meet hosted by the Queens University of Charlotte.

Caleb Greene was the first Bulldog to cross the finish line, running the 8K course in a time of 27:35 for 34th place. A second runner finished in the top 40 when Mack Alas finished in 39th place with a time of 27:43. A time of 27:48 placed Payt Bussey in 44th place while Conner Craig was the next Tennessee Wesleyan runner to finish the race, running a time of 30:06 for 114th place.

Next for the Bulldogs to complete the course was Major Frerichs in a time of 30:53, placing him in 131st place. Back-to-back finishes saw Jordan Allen (32:11) and Zane Marlow (32:12) finish the race 150th and 151st, respectively, to round out the TWU runners in the race.

On the team scoreboard, the Bulldogs finished in 13th place with 302 points. The team had a total time of 2:24:07 and an average time of 28:49.

The team will return to action on Friday, Oct. 21 at the NAIA Appalachian Challenge in Knoxville, Tenn.
