Phillips Named Softball Pitcher of the Week by AAC

WALESKA, Ga.- The Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) announced the newest winners of the weekly awards for softball on Monday. Bailee Phillips was named the Pitcher of the Week. This was the second edition of the weekly award. 

The junior took the circle three times during the week, pitching two complete game wins and picking up a save. The junior picked up a save against Cumberland University, striking out four batters in 1.2 innings of work. The Soddy Daisy, Tenn., native picked up her first win of the week in the game against Columbia International University, striking out 10 batters in a complete game. The pitcher returned to the circle against Columbia College the following day, pitching another complete game of seven innings while striking out 11 batters. While collecting 25 strikeouts, Phillips only allowed six hits, three walks, and gave up no runs for a 0.00 earned-run average (ERA) in the 15.2 innings she pitched.  

This is the first weekly honor for Phillips. The next edition of the award will be announced on Monday, March 4.
