Phillips Wins Second Pitching Weekly Award

WALESKA, Ga.- For the second time this season, Bailee Phillips was named the Pitcher of the Week for softball by the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC). The weekly award was announced on Monday. This was the fifth edition of the weekly award. Last week, Phillips was named the Player of the Week.

In two games in the circle this past week, Phillips went 1-1. The junior picked up a win against Union College, pitching a complete game against the conference foe. The Soddy Daisy, Tenn., native pitched a shutout while only allowing one hit and one walk and striking out nine batters. Later in the week, Phillips struck out six batters in the game against No. 3 Georgia Gwinnett College.

This is the third weekly award total for Phillips, two pitching and one player. The next edition of the award will be announced on Monday, March 25.
