Phillips Wins Weekly Award From AAC for Third Time

WALESKA, Ga.- Bailee Phillips was named the Pitcher of the Week for softball by the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) for the third time this season on Monday. This was the eleventh and final edition of the weekly award for the 2024 season. Phillips also won the second and fifth edition of the award.

Phillips won the weekly award after going 2-0 in the circle on the week. In her first win of the week, the junior took a perfect game into the seventh inning against the University of Pikeville. In the 1-0 win, Phillips only gave up one hit while striking out 10 batters. The Soddy Daisy, Tenn., native followed the also picked up a win against Truett McConnell University, helping the team clinch the No. 3 seed in the upcoming AAC Tournament. The pitcher finished with three strikeouts in the game and only allowed one run during the two games this past week.

This is the fourth weekly award total for Phillips, the third for pitching while also winning a Player of the Week award.
