Women's Golf Finishes Sixth at TWU Fall Invitational

Vonore, Tenn.- The women's golf team returned to the links on Saturday and Sunday for the TWU Fall Invitational. The tournament the team hosted was played at The Links at Kahite in Vonore, Tenn. The tournament features two rounds over two days.

Morgan Satterfield had the team's highest finish in the first round, carding an 83 through the first 18 holes to be tied for 19th place. Lone possession of 25th place belonged to Olivia Sargla, shooting an 84 while playing in an individual position. TWU saw three players tied for 30th place after shooting 87, Maisie Hassall, Cora Mount, and Madison Atchley, who played in an individual position.

Bevin Harrill's 88 placed her in a tie for 36th place while Ann Sofie Madsen and June Greene (playing as an individual) tied for 39th place after shooting 89 each. Carlee McLemore finished the day with a score of 111 in an individual position, finishing in 50th place.

As a team, the Lady Bulldogs finished in seventh place in the field of nine teams. The team had a combined score of 345 through the first 18 holes.

Sunday:

The team erased 17 strokes from their team score in the second round on Sunday. The decrease in strokes saw the team finish with a score of 328 to give them a two-day total of 673. The two-day total tied them for sixth place in the tournament.

A score of 76, 11 strokes better from the first round, helped Hassall jump up the leaderboard to No. 15 after finishing with a 163 two-round total. An 83 gave Sargla a total of 167 and a tie for 20th place. Satterfield shot an 85 in the second round, placing her in a tie for 22nd with a total of 168. Mount's 83 in the second round gave her a two-round total of 170, placing her in a tie for 25th. Madsen (84) and Atchley (86) finished the tournament with 173 scores, tying them for 28th place.

Greene finished the second round with a score of 94 for a total score of 183 and 43rd place. Sitting in 44th place was Harrill, who shot a 101 in the second round to finish 44 while McLemore finished the day with a 100, giving her 49th place in the tournament.

Up next for the team is the East Tennessee Collegiate on Sept. 26-27. The tournament is set to be played at the Johnson City Country Club in Johnson City, Tenn.
