Women's Golf Finishes Fifth at AAC Fall Preview

Blythewood, S.C.- The women's golf team played their second to last tournament of the fall season on Monday and Tuesday. The team traveled to play in the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Fall Preview. The event, which is used as a preview for the tournament in the spring to determine a conference champion and a direct qualifier to the national tournament, was played at the Windermere Club.

On the Par 71 course, Cora Mount finished tied for seventh after shooting 79 and 73 for a two-round total of 152. The next highest finisher was Bevin Harrill with a score of 160 after shooting 79 and 81 to finish tied for 22nd. A score of 163 with round scores of 83 and 80 placed Morgan Satterfield in 27th place. After carding duplicate scores of 85, Madison Atchley finished in 32nd place with a score of 170 while Ann Sofie Madsen, who had the biggest improvement from round to round, shot 94 and 82 for the tournament to finish in a tie for 37th place with a total score of 176.

TWU finished the first round in fifth place with a score of 326 for fifth place. The team stayed in fifth place even though they removed ten strokes from their score, finishing round two with 316 strokes for a two-round team total score of 642. 

The team concludes the fall season on Monday and Tuesday at the Alice Lloyd Invite. The tournament will be played at Nob North Golf Club in Cohutta, Ga.
