Women's Lacrosse Falls to No. 2 Lawrence Tech

Beverly Hills, Mich.- The women's lacrosse team went on the road for the first time on Saturday. The team faced their second consecutive ranked opponent, the second-ranked Lawrence Tech Lady Blue Devils.

Unfortunately for the Lady Bulldogs, the momentum did not start with them. Lawrence Tech took control of the game early. Between the first and second quarters, the opponents scored the first 16 goals to lead 16-0 at halftime.

TWU scored the first three goals of the second half. Olivia Ritter scored all three, scoring two unassisted and one on a Mac Alexander assist. The third quarter ended with Lawrence Tech scoring two goals, making the score 19-3. Even though TWU added one more goal in the fourth quarter, a score by Annalise Vigilante on a Ritter assist, the team could overcome the demanding lead by the opponents, falling 23-4.

Rylee Brendlinger and Olivia Galberaith both spent time in the net.

Up next for the Lady Bulldogs (0-2) is their Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) against (RV) Georgetown College on Wednesday. The contest in Athens is set to begin at 1:00 p.m.
