Women's Lacrosse Unable to Pace with Georgetown

Athens, Tenn.- The women's lacrosse team played their first conference game of the season on Wednesday. The team hosted the (RV) Georgetown College Lady Tigers at the TWU Athletic Complex.

Tennessee Wesleyan was unable to find a pace on offense early as Georgetown scored the first eight goals of the contest. In the opening minutes of the second quarter, Olivia Downey was able to find the back of the net for the Lady Bulldogs, making the score 8-1. The opponents scored the next five goals though, holding a 13-1 lead at halftime.

In the third quarter, Olivia Ritter scored for the team after a Georgetown goal to move the score to 14-2. The team was unable to overcome the opponents' lead, falling by a final score of 22-2.

Rylee Brendlinger and Olivia Galberaith split time in the net.

Up next for Tennessee Wesleyan (0-3, 0-1 AAC) is a home contest on Saturday against Montreat College. The game is set to begin at 12:00 p.m.
