Women's Soccer Blanks St. Andrews

Laurinburg, N.C.- The women's soccer team went on the road for their first Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) game on Saturday. The schedule took the team to North Carolina to take on the St. Andrews University Lady Knights.

The offense was flowing early and often for the Lady Bulldogs as the team outshot St. Andrews 26-3 in the game. Eventually, the pressure TWU brought through the offense turned into a goal when Cristina Escrig scored on a Maggie Aird assist, giving the team a 1-0 lead they took into the halftime break.

Escrig paid back the favor, assisting Jill De Waal on a goal in the 56th minute of the game to give the Lady Bulldogs a 2-0 lead. The advantage grew to three goals when Krista Eik Hardardottir scored in the 71st minute of the contest. The game became a 4-0 contest on a goal by Lauryn Smith, the final goal of the game in the team's four-goal victory.

Laia Roch Font had two saves in the game.

The win moved the team's record to 3-3 overall and 2-1 in the AAC. The team stays on the road for their next game, an AAC contest against Point University on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m.
