Women's Soccer Record Third Straight Shutout

Barbourville, Ky.- The women's soccer team played their third consecutive road game on Wednesday. The schedule took the team to Kentucky for an Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) contest against the Union College Lady Bulldogs.

Defensively or offensively, Tennessee Wesleyan did not have much of a problem with the opposing Lady Bulldogs. The team outshot the opponents 26-1 in the contest. The first one of the shots to turn into a goal for the Lady Bulldogs occurred in the 26th minute of the game. Krista Eik Hardardottir scored on a Jill De Waal assist to give the team a 1-0 advantage. Ten minutes later, Hardardottir recorded her second goal of the game, this time on a Maggie Aird assist to move the lead to two goals. The lead remained 2-0 at the halftime break.

A flurry of offense in the second half relayed a goal in the 70th minute for Tennessee Wesleyan. Waal grew the lead to 3-0 on an unassisted goal. Near the end of the game, the Lady Bulldogs were awarded a penalty kick. Hardardottir stepped in the box and knocked it in the net to complete a hat trick and give the team a 4-0 victory.

The win moved the team's record to 4-3 overall and 4-1 in the AAC.
