Women's Soccer Defeats Bluefield

Bluefield, Va.- The goals came aplenty for the women's soccer team on Friday. The team was in action against the Bluefield University Lady Rams on the road.

Krista Eik Hardardottir scored the first goal of the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) game in the ninth minute. The lead grew to two goals for the Lady Bulldogs when Jill De Waal scored at the 18:56 mark. Waal moved the lead to three at the 19:52 mark, taking Hardardottir's pass and sending it into the net for a 3-0 advantage, the last goal of the first half.

In the second half, a goal occurred three minutes in. Jordan Smith scored to extend the lead to four goals. Hardardottir gave TWU a 5-0 lead. A hat trick occurred as De Waal scored her third goal of the contest in the 64th minute, moving the lead to six goals. In the 70th minute, Smith found the net again to make the score 7-0, and the final score read 8-0 after a Cristina Escrig goal in the 71st minute on a Hardardottir assist.

The win moved the team's record to 8-4 overall and 7-2 in the AAC.
