No. 5 Women's Tennis Wins Against Milligan

ELIZABETHTON, Tenn.- The women's tennis team, ranked No. 5 in the NAIA, went on the road for an Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) match on Thursday. The team traveled to face the Milligan University Lady Buffaloes.

TWU went up 1-0 after the doubles matches. Olivia Alcala and Laia Berne won the No. 1 doubles match 6-4 while Mercedes Chasset and Julia Richardet won the No. 2 doubles match 6-0. A 6-1 score gave Ivet Prat and Astrid Staksrud a win in the No. 3 doubles match.

Alcala contiuned the winning ways in a 6-2, 6-0 win in the No. 1 singles spot to go along with a 6-0, 6-1 win by Josefa Fernandez in the No. 2 singles spot. Chasset won the No. 3 singles pot 6-2, 6-4 and Prat took the No. 4 single sspot 6-4, 6-2. Staksrud (No. 5 singles; 6-4, 6-1) and Paula Cigarran (No. 6 singles; 6-0, 2-6, 10-7) won their matches to close out a 7-0 win for the Lady Bulldogs. 

The win moved the team's record to 5-0 overall and 4-0 in the AAC.
