Alcala Named to NAIA All-American Third Team

KANSAS CITY, Mo.- For the second time in her playing career, Olivia Alcala was named an All-American by the NAIA. The sophomore student-athlete was named to the 2024 NAIA Women's Tennis All-American Third Team for her play during the season. Honorees were selected by the NAIA All-America Selection Committee. Sixteen student-athletes were chosen to comprise first, second, and third teams. This is the first time the NAIA has named a third team. In 2023, Alcala became the first women's tennis player in program history to be named to the First Team.

Alcala went 15-7 during the season in singles play, including a 9-0 conference record. Alcala did not lose a set in conference play on her way to being named the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Player of the Year for the second consecutive season. Alcala finished the 2024 season ranked No. 23 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) Singles Rankings.

This is the fourth consecutive season the women's tennis program has a student-athlete named to an All-American Team.
