Bio

Ray Stone was promoted to Assistant Athletic Director- Internal Operations in March of 2024.

Prior to being elevated to Assistant AD, Stone served as head coach of the men's basketball program for six seasons from 2018-2024. Stone finished his tenure as head coach with an 84-80 overall record.

After serving as associate head coach for 14 seasons, Stone was promoted to head coach to begin the 2018-2019 season. Stone played two years for the Bulldogs after transferring from Motlow State Community College.

After graduating from Tennessee Wesleyan in 2000, Stone worked as an Admissions Counselor for three years.  After leaving to pursue another career, Stone came back to Tennessee Wesleyan to serve as an assistant coach for the men’s basketball program.  During his first eight years back, he was also the head coach for the cross country programs. Stone also served as Coordinator of Athletic Event Management.   

Stone resides in Athens and has two children, Ray and London.
