Athens, Tenn.- The second-ranked baseball team returned to Jack Bowling Field on Saturday. The team closed out the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) series against the Johnson University Royals.

Parker Stinnett opened the second inning with a double to center field, scoring on the next at-bat which was a Braxton Turner single to make the score 1-0. The pitching of Blake Peyton and the defense behind him kept the Royals in check, not allowing a run the entire game. In the sixth inning, Welchel recorded his second home run of the game, this time a two-run homer as Magill stood on base as the ball flew out of the stadium. Turner got in on the home run feeling in the seventh with a two-run blast scoring Stinnett. With the bases loaded in the seventh, Aiden McClary singled to left field, picking up an RBI as Magill scored. McGill's bases-loaded walk ended the game as the run rule came into effect with the score being 10-0.

Peyton finished the game with a career-high 12 strikeouts. Welchel finished the game with a team-high five RBIs while Turner added three RBIs.

The Bulldogs (25-5, 15-0 AAC) return to Athens Insurance Stadium for their next scheduled game. The game is against
