Peyton Earns Spot on World Series All-Tournament Team; Magill Named Charles Berry Hustle Award Winner

LEWISTON, Idaho- Two members of the baseball team earned post-tournament awards at the Avista NAIA Baseball World Series. Blake Peyton was named to the 2024 NAIA World Series All-Tournament Team as a Pitcher while Evan Magill was named the Charles Hustle Award winner.

Peyton made two appearances in the World Series, both of which were starts. In 12.1 innings pitched, Peyton had the 10th best earned-run average (ERA) of pitchers who started at least one game with a 2.92 ERA. In his time on the mound in Lewiston, Idaho, Peyton only allowed seven hits while striking out seven batters. Peyton only allowed opponents in the World Series to have a .163 batting average. 

Magill started all six games the team played during their run to the championship at first base, finishing with a perfect fielding percentage in 52 putouts. At the plate, Magill had seven hits, four of which were doubles and five RBIs. Magill's four doubles was tied for the most at the World Series. Magill also scored five runs at the World Series, including all three runs that helped the Bulldogs beat Reinhardt University 3-2 in the eleven innings to help TWU advance to the championship game.
