SPARTANBURG, S.C.- The baseball team went on the road for a non-conference game on Tuesday. In the game against the Spartanburg Methodist College Pioneers, the top-ranked Bulldogs won the game 19-1 in seven innings.

The first four batters of the game for TWU all reached base. Josh Shelly started with a double while a hit by pitch put Devin Dixon on first. Daniel Stewart brought the first of six runs in the inning with a double, scoring Shelly. A wild pitch moved Stewart to third and scored Dixon to make the lead 2-0. Kolton Reynolds moved the lead to three runs with a single that allowed Stewart to score. Three runs scored on a Corbin Shaw single as an error occurred that allowed Reynolds, Chris Catalano, and Shaw to score, giving the team a 6-0 lead after the first inning. Shelly scored a second time in the second inning off Stewart's second RBI of the game.

In the fourth inning, the Bulldogs added another five runs. With the bases loaded, Jack Stevens hit a single to bring in Dixon. Edwin Toribio earned a walk, removing Stewart from the bases to move the score to 9-0. A fielder's choice on Shaw's at-bat brought Reynolds across home plate while Geremy Garcia helped the team lead 12-0 with his two-RBI single scoring both Stevens and Toribio.

In the seventh inning, the team added seven more runs to get to their 19 runs. Kurtis Reid, who got on base with a walk, scored on a error on Stewart's single. An error on Steven's at-bat allowed Stewart to score while Hagen Escoto hit a single to score Stevens. Nick Collins kept the runs coming as his hit resulted in an error, giving Toribio the space to score. Garcia recorded two more RBIs as his double brought in Escoto and Collins in. Reid came to the plate one more time in the inning, hitting an RBI single that scored Garcia.
