
Baseball Sweeps WinWonTech AAC Weekly Awards for Second Time
WALESKA, Ga.- For the second time during the 2025 season, the baseball program swept the WinWonTech Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Baseball Player of the Week awards. Anthony Figueroa was named the Pitcher of the Week and Corbin Shaw was named the Player of the Week. This was the fifth edition of the award.
After pitching a seven-inning no-hitter against Kentucky Christian University, Figueroa was the choice for the weekly award. Along with the hitless outing, the Miami, Fla., native struck out four batters in the 5-0 win for the Bulldogs.
In four games, Shaw batted .571, going 8-14 with four home runs, 12 RBIs, and six runs. The majority of his work came in the 16-13 win against Cumberland University. In the win, the Conyers, Ga., native was 4-5 with a double and two home runs, including a grand slam, and seven RBIs. Shaw hit his other two home runs in the first and second game of the series against Kentucky Christian, finishing with two RBIs and three RBIs, respectively. In three of the four games, the senior batted .500 or better, including a .800 batting average against Cumberland
This is the first weekly award of the season for both Figueroa and Shaw. The next edition of the award will be announced on Monday, March 24.
