Baseball Slips to No. 5 in Third NAIA Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo.- The baseball team fell a few spots in the newest poll announced by the national office on Wednesday. The team was No. 5 in the third edition of the NAIA Baseball Coaches' Top 25 Poll, the Bulldogs stayed in the No. 2 spot.

Holding a 26-9 record, TWU earned 443 voting points in the poll.

The Bulldogs have wins against six teams in the poll: University of the Cumberlands, Reinhardt University, Hope International University, Arizona Christian University, Indiana University Southeast, and Johnson University. The team also has wins against a team receiving votes in the poll, Cumberland University.

The rating was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences. The Top 25 is determined by a points system based on how each rater ranks the best teams. A team receives 30 points for each first-place vote, 29 for second-place, and so on through the list.

This is the 42nd consecutive poll the team has been ranked in. The next edition of the poll will be announced on Wednesday, April 16.
