Men's Basketball Goes Over Century-Mark in KCU Win

Athens, Tenn.- The men's basketball team played the Kentucky Christian University Knights on Wednesday. TWU saw the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) contest go the way they want as they ended the night with a 103-84 win.

A layup and four straight points by Peyton West put the team ahead 6-0 early in the game. After two straight baskets by Kentucky Christian, the Bulldogs went on a run. Kobe Pride, Ty Patterson, Tyler, and Darius Rozier combined for a 21-3 scoring run, including 13 straight at one point, to give the team a 27-7 lead under the 11-minute mark of the game. Cameron Montgomery pushed the team over 30 points with his layup making the score 31-12. Kolbe Billingsley moved the team to the 40-point mark with a three-pointer and 4:01 remaining in the first half. Scores by Kariden Hardrick, Emmanuel Ndambi, and Matthew Kile pushed the team over 50 points, giving the team a 52-37 lead at halftime.

Free throws from Pride and a West three-pointer made the score 57-42 in the opening minutes of the second half. With 13:20 remaining in the game, the Knights cut the Bulldogs' lead down to eight points. Patterson, Montgomery, West, Rozier, and Elisha Mayberry scored over the next few minutes, moving the score to 71-59 at the midway point of the second half. The margin grew higher at the 6:33 mark when Tyler, Rozier, West, and Mayberry combined to score, making the score 92-73. The game came to an end with back-to-back baskets by Hardrick making the final score 103-84.

Pride and Tyler both tallied 16 points in the win to go along with double digits by Rozier (14), West (13), and Patterson (10).

The win moved the team's record to 14-4 overall and 13-4 in the AAC.
