Men's Basketball Outflies Eagles

WALESKA, Ga.- The men's basketball team tallied a road win to their record on Wednesday. Tennessee Wesleyan defeated the Reinhardt University Eagles 90-78 in an Appalachian Athletic Conference game.

The Bulldogs wasted no time setting the tone, opening the game with relentless defensive pressure. Armando Cuardado showcased his versatility with key blocks and timely rebounds, while Amauri Young provided a spark offensively with multiple drives to the basket. Ty Hurst added a critical three-pointer midway through the half, extending Tennessee Wesleyan's lead. Jay Reed and Peyton West also contributed significantly, capitalizing on turnovers and creating fast-break opportunities. By halftime, Wesleyan had built a 45-41 lead, demonstrating their ability to maintain control despite Reinhardt's attempts to narrow the margin.

TWU exploded offensively in the second half, with Young and West combining for crucial layups and three-pointers to build a double-digit lead. Hurst continued his sharpshooting, knocking down pivotal threes that stifled Reinhardt's momentum. Reed's defensive tenacity shone in key moments, including steals and blocks that prevented Reinhardt from making meaningful runs. The Bulldogs excelled in their rotations, as contributions from the bench maintained their high level of play. Late in the game, Young sealed the deal with a thunderous dunk, solidifying Wesleyan's dominant performance. Despite a brief surge by Reinhardt, the Bulldogs remained composed, finishing the game strong to secure their well-earned 90-78 victory.
