Men's Basketball Ties Program Record in 125-78 Win Against St. Andrews

ATHENS, Tenn.- The men's basketball tied a program record in an 125-78 win against the St. Andrews University Knights on Saturday. The team tied the record for the most field goals made in a game with 51 in the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) win.

Tennessee Wesleyan wasted no time asserting themselves, scoring at will and executing a fast-paced offense. Kariden Hardrick opened the scoring with a layup off an assist from Amauri Young, setting the tone for the Bulldogs' high-energy attack. Ty Hurst and Jay Reed quickly found their rhythm, combining for multiple baskets to extend Wesleyan's lead.

Defensively, the Bulldogs were aggressive, forcing turnovers and capitalizing on St. Andrews' mistakes. Anna Crowder and Peyton West anchored the team's transition game, leading to a barrage of fast-break points. By halftime, Tennessee Wesleyan had built an insurmountable 63-37 lead, showcasing their depth and efficiency.

The Bulldogs continued to pour it on in the second half, refusing to give St. Andrews any room to mount a comeback. Hurst drained a three-pointer to open the half, while West and Reed continued their dominant scoring efforts. Wesleyan's ball movement was crisp, with multiple players getting in on the action.

Defensively, the Bulldogs tightened their grip, holding St. Andrews to just 41 second-half points while maintaining a relentless scoring pace. With contributions from the bench, including key baskets from Nicchaune Jones and Zhaelin Callahan, Tennessee Wesleyan cruised to a season-high 125 points, sealing the dominant victory.

Neverdon (22), Reshaun Hampton (20), Ty Hurst (19), Peyton West (16), Jay Reed (14), and Nichaune Jones (13) finished in double figures.
