Men's Golf Tied for Seventh After Two Rounds at BMCU Spring Classic

WEST POINT, Miss.- Two weeks after being in Mississippi, the men's golf team was back in the state for a tournament. The first day saw the golfers at the Blue Mountain Christian University Spring Classic at Old Waverly Golf Club play two rounds on Monday. The course held a Par of 72.

Dalton Sutton and Josh Loveday both posted scores of 74 in the first round for the Bulldogs. The next lowest score for TWU was carded by Cody Skipper, a score of 77, while JT McKenzie shot 78 in the first round. The final golfer for the Bulldogs on the individual scoreboard was Jacob Parton, who finished with a score of 81. As a team, Tennessee Wesleyan was tied in seventh place with a total score of 303.

A copy of his score of 74 placed Sutton in a tie for 15th place after the second round, giving him a total of 148. Loveday was tied in 24th place after shooting 75 and totaling 149 while McKenzie shot par in the second round to sit tied in 29th place with a two-round score of 150. A 75 in the second round gave Skipper a total score of 152, putting him in a tie for 42nd place and Parton knocked off seven strokes off his first round by scoring 74 for a total of 155 to be tied in 56th place. The team remained in a tie for seventh place after a 295 score in the second round, giving them a total of 598 on the day.
