(RV) Men's Lacrosse Blast St. Andrews

Laurinburg, N.C.- The men's lacrosse team went on the road for an Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) game on Saturday. The team went on the road looking for a win against the St. Andrews University Knights. 

Carson Bowling gave the Bulldogs the first lead of the contest. Wes Christian scored on Kennedy Moore's to make the lead two goals. St. Andrews cut the lead down to one before three straight scores by TWU. Jack Driscoll scored the first goal to make the score 3-1. Robert Holekamp scored back-to-back goals to extend the lead to four goals. A goal by the Knights made the score 5-2 at the end of the first quarter. 

The first four goals of the second quarter were scored by the Bulldogs. Jaylan Steen opened the scoring to make the score 6-2. The scoreboard read 7-2 after Holekamp scored on a Driscoll assist. Bowling scored for a second time and Jackson Lollis was the fourth consecutive goal, scoring on a Driscoll pass to make the score 9-2. Steen scored a goal with seconds left in the quarter to give Tennessee Wesleyan a 10-3 lead at halftime. 

The third quarter belonged to the Bulldogs as the defense held St. Andrews scoreless. The first of six goals for TWU in the quarter was scored by Bowling. Driscoll scored on a Steen assist and Lollis followed on a Driscoll assist to move the score to 13-3. Driscoll scored back-to-back goals, the first off a Holekamp assist, to make the goal differential 12 goals. Christian scored the sixth and final goal of the quarter, making the score 16-3. 

In the fourth quarter, Matthew Tullock started the quarter with a goal. Lollis gave the team their 18th goal of the game and Bowling moved the team one goal away from twenty goals in the game. St. Andrews broke the streak of scoring with a goal before Bowling gave the team their 20th goal of the game. Moore scored in the final minute of the game on a Steen pass, helping the team win the game 21-4. 

Bowling led the team with a career-high five goals in the game while Driscoll had a career-high four goals in the game. Jack Shaw had 12 saves in the net. 

Up next for the Bulldogs (6-5, 3-3 AAC) is a road contest against No. 4 University of the Cumberlands. The game is set for Tuesday, April 11 in Williamsburg at 7:00 p.m.
