
(RV) Men's Lacrosse Outduels Spartans
KNOXVILLE, Tenn.- The (RV) men's lacrosse team returned to the field in Knoxville for their final game of the Sixth Annual Knights Cup Lacrosse Tournament on Saturday. The team faced the Missouri Baptist University Spartans.
After the Spartans scored the first three goals of the game, Jackson Lollis got the Bulldogs on the board. Hayden Harmon followed with a goal and then assisted on a Robert Holekamp goal, sending the game into the second quarter in a 3-3 tie.
Kennedy Moore made it four straight goals for TWU, scoring early in the second quarter to give the team their first lead of the contest. The match saw its final tie a few minutes later as Missouri Baptist scored to make the score 4-4. The game blew apart when the Bulldogs exploded for 11 straight goals. Lollis started the scoring streak and scores by Matthew Tullock, Hayden Harmon, Holekamp (2), AJ Carsto and Carson Bowling put the team ahead 11-4 at halftime.
The opening of the third quarter saw Holekamp, Carsto, Moore, and Lollis continue the 11-goal scoring streak, giving the team a commanding 15-4 lead. Tennessee Wesleyan scored six more goals in the third quarter, moving their lead to 21-6 at the end of the quarter. The game ended with the Bulldogs winning 23-8.
Holekamp and Lollis both had six goals in the game, Harmon had three goals, and Bowling, Moore, and Carsto each had two goals. Matthew Tullock had three assists. Jack Shaw had six saves in the win while Jacob Moceri had three saves.
TWU (1-2) opens Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) play on Thursday for their next game. The team will face the No. 1 team in the NAIA, Keiser University, on the road at 6:00 p.m.
