Men's Lacrosse Blast Montreat

ATHENS, Tenn.- The men's lacrosse picked up an Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) win in a dominant fashion on Saturday. The team won by a 20-goal margin against the Montreat College Cavaliers.

Tennessee Wesleyan scored the first 11 goals of the game, of which the first seven happened in the first quarter. Kennedy Moore started off the scoring and Wes Christian followed. Robert Holekamp scored back-to-back goals to make the score 4-0. Jackson Lollis made the score 5-0 and the team went into the second quarter leading 7-0 after goals by Moore and Carson Bowling.

Lollis opened the scoring in the second quarter with two straight goals. Moore scored again and Bowling's second goal of the game made the score 11-0. After a Montreat goal broke the scoring streak, the Bulldogs scored four more goals in a row off the sticks of Bowling, Matthew Tullock, Holekamp, and Lollis. A goal by Moore gave the team a 16-3 lead at halftime.

The scoring continued for TWU in the second half. The team outscored the visitors 4-1 in the third quarter. Holekamp scored the first two of the team's four goals while Moore and Lollis scored the remaining two. The goals helped the Bulldogs lead 20-4 at the end of the third quarter.

Holekamp scored two more goals in the fourth quarter, moving the team's lead to 22-5. A goal by AJ Carsto along with scores by Bowling and Moore helped the team win 25-5.

Holekamp finished with seven goals and two assists in the game, Moore had six goals in the game, Lollis scored five times, and Bowling scored four times. Jack Shaw had seven while Jacob Moceri had five saves.

Tennessee Wesleyan (5-8, 3-5 AAC) close out the season on Saturday against No. 4 University of the Cumberlands. The game will also be the team's Senior Day and will begin at 3:00 p.m.
