BUENA VISTA, Va.- The men's lacrosse team had a rough trip in their first road game of the season on Saturday. The team fell to the Southern Virginia University Knights 17-5.
The offense was not able to find a rhythm on offense as they did not score until the second quarter. Carson Bowling scored the goal for the Bulldogs off a Jack Driscoll assist. The team did not score again before halftime though, trailing 9-1 at the break.
Driscoll scored for TWU in the third quarter. The goal came with 7:35 remaining in the third quarter off a Kennedy Moore pass. Moore made it back-to-back goals with a goal 45 seconds later. The team was not able to muster a comeback though as Moore and Bray Holley scored the remaining goals for the Bulldogs.
Jack Shaw finished with a school record 34 saves.
Up next for Tennessee Wesleyan (1-1) is a road trip to Point University for their AAC opener. The game is set to begin at 1:00 p.m.
