
Men's Lacrosse Outmaneuver Siena Heights
ATHENS, Tenn.- The men's lacrosse team got back in the win column on Saturday. The team started a four-game homestand with a victory against the Siena Heights University Saints.
The game got off to a rough start for the Bulldogs. Hayden Harmon got TWU on the board with a goal at the 7:22 mark. Siena Heights scored the next three goals though, leading 3-1 after the end of the first quarter.
The reverse happened in the second quarter. Siena Heights scored the first goal of the quarter where as the Bulldogs scored the next two. Kennedy Moore scored to cut the deficit in half. Harmon followed with a goal to make the score 4-3 in favor of the opponents at halftime.
Out of the halftime break, Tennessee Wesleyan held the Saints scoreless. While holding the opponents to no goals in the quarter, the Bulldogs scored four times. Moore was the first scorer with his third goal of the game. Kyle Gasior followed with a goal that gave TWU a 5-4 lead. Harmon scored two more goals to move his total up to four and move the team's lead to 7-4.
The team turned their scoring streak to six straight goals as they scored the first two goals of the fourth quarter. Harmon scored his fifth of the game to begin the fourth quarter and was followed by Jameson Koch, making the lead 9-4. Moore tallied his fourth goal of the game to go along with Harmon's sixth goal, moving the Bulldogs' lead to 11-5. Ending the scoring for Tennessee Wesleyan was Carson Bowling and Jack Driscoll, helping the team to the 13-6 win.
Harmon's six goals are a career-high. Jack Shaw finished with 18 saves in the net.
The second game of the homestand is scheduled for Wednesday, March 19 against Life University. The game is set to begin at 3:00 p.m.
