
Men's Lacrosse Battles But Falls to No. 8 Aquinas
ATHENS, Tenn.- The men's lacrosse team played their final non-conference game of the season on Saturday. The team fell to the eighth-ranked Aquinas College Saints 14-7.
Jameson Koch put the game in a 1-1 tie with his goal, scoring off a Hayden Harmon assist. Aquinas scored the next two goals though to break the tie. Kennedy Moore gave Harmon his second assist of the game, scoring to cut the deficit down to one goal as the score was 3-2 at the end of the first quarter.
A tough second quarter occurred for the Bulldogs as Aquinas scored five consecutive goals to put the team in an 8-2 hole. Moore and Jack Driscoll scored two goals before the end of the half, sending the game to the break with a score of 8-4.
Out of the halftime break, Driscoll scored again to bring TWU within three of the lead. The opponents scored the next two goals to build their lead to five goals. Harmon got in on the scoring action but a goal by the Saints made the score 11-6 at the end of the third quarter.
One more goal went into the net for the Bulldogs as they continued to try to battle back. Torin Piper scored the goal for the team, but they were not able to find any more, falling by the seven-goal margin.
Kennedy and Driscoll both finished with two goals. Jack Shaw had 17 saves in the net.
Tennessee Wesleyan (3-7) will host No. 2 Webber International University in their next game on Sunday, March 30. The conference game is set to begin at 1:00 p.m.
