Men's Soccer Falls in Second Round of NAIA Tournament

MISHAWAKA, Ind.- For the first time in program history, the men's soccer team played in the second round of the NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship Tournament. After winning their first-round game on Thursday, the program's first NAIA National Tournament win, the team played the host of the Mishawaka Bracket, the No. 6 seed Bethel University (Ind.), on Saturday.

It was a rough start for the Bulldogs. Bethel scored the first goal of the game in the 16th minute of the contest. A few moments later, The TWU tried the tie the game, but Dylan McConnell's shot flew high of the goal. The offense was limited to one more shot in the first half, a Cian Gantley attempt that went high. Bethel held on to their 1-0 lead at the halftime break.

In the 59th minute, the Bulldogs found the equalizer. Luis Baldiveiso scored off a Gantley assist to tie the game 1-1. The game remained time until the 75th minute of the game. Unfortunately, the game-changing goal went towards the score of the opponents. The game ended with Bethel leading 2-1, ending the historic tournament run by the Bulldogs. 

TWU ends the season with a 12-5-5 overall record and a 9-1-3 conference record.
