Men's Soccer Sweeps AAC Weekly Awards

WALESKA, Ga.- The Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) announced the first edition of the weekly awards for men's soccer on Monday. Tennessee Wesleyan swept the awards as Leo Summers (Defensive Player of the Week) and Robin Vezinhet (Offensive Player of the Week) were named the winners of the awards.

Summers took home the award after shutting out the West Virginia Tech in the team's home opener this past Friday. The junior goalkeeper had two saves during the win.

Vezinhet scored the game-winning goal to nab the offensive weekly honor. The freshman scored the lone goal of the contest in the 52nd minute of the game, helping the Bulldogs win their first game of the season.

This is the first weekly award for both Summers and Vezinhet. The next weekly award will be announced on Monday, Sept. 2.
