Men's Soccer Clinch AAC Tournament Bid with Win Against Reinhardt

ATHENS, Tenn.- The men's soccer team was back in action at the TWU Athletic Complex on Wednesday in a game that had major implications for their hope in the Appalachian Athletic Conference Tournament. The team faced the Reinhardt University Eagles in a game where the winner would essentially clinch a spot in the upcoming AAC Tournament. Fortunately for the Bulldogs, the team left the field with a 2-0 win.

The two goals for Tennessee Wesleyan were scored in the opening seven minutes of the game. Robin Vezinhet scored the first goal of the game 51 seconds into the contest, finishing off a Jake Fisher shot that the opposing goalkeeper was unable to hold on to. As 7:18 ticked on the clock, Fisher got in on the scoring action, putting a pass from Dylan Connell into the net for a 2-0 lead. TWU was able to defend the net from the visitors' attack for the remaining 83 minutes of the game, holding on to their 2-0 advantage.

The guaranteed the team would be at least the No. 8 seed in the upcoming AAC Tournament and moved the team's record to 6-7-2 overall and 4-6-1 in the AAC.
