
Crippen Resigns as Head Men's Soccer Coach
ATHENS, Tenn.- Codi Crippen has announced he is stepping down as the head coach of the men's soccer program to pursue other coaching opportunities. Crippen moved into the head coach position before the 2024 season after serving as an assistant coach for four seasons.
In his season as head coach, Crippen guided the men's soccer team to a 7-8-2 overall record and an Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Tournament appearance. Included in the team's wins was an upset victory against No. 21 Georgia Gwinnett College.
"We want to thank Codi for all that he has given to the soccer programs during his five years as assistant coach and head coach," said Vice President and Director of Athletics Donny Mayfield. "Codi has been a great ambassador for these programs and the university. We wish him all the best of luck in this new adventure."
As an assistant coach, Crippen helped the program qualify for three NAIA National Tournament appearances and win the program's first-ever NAIA Tournament game. Crippen was a part of 44 wins and two AAC Tournament Runner-up finishes. Crippen also served as an assistant coach for the women's soccer program during the 2023 season, helping the program win 16 games, finish as the AAC Tournament Runners-up, and qualify for the NAIA National Tournament.
