No. 2 Men's Tennis Wins Against Montevallo

ATHENS, Tenn.- The men's tennis team was back in action on Thursday. After playing a conference match the previous day, the second-ranked Bulldogs played a non-conference match against the University of Montevallo, a NCAA Division II opponent. The match between the two teams was played in a clinch format, meaning the match would end after the first team scores four points.

The doubles point was taken by TWU. Octavio Volpi and German Delcanto won the No. 1 doubles match 7-6 while Zoilo Rios and David Leon took the No. 2 doubles match 6-3 to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead.

Needing three points to clinch the match, Tennessee Wesleyan would find them in the singles. Sabi Roi won the No. 1 singles match 6-4, 6-1. Rios gave the team three points wih a 6-4, 6-3 score and the fourth point to clinch the match came from Leon in the No. 4 singles with a score of 6-3, 6-2. The final match score was 4-1. 

The schedule takes the Bulldogs (13-1) on the road for the final time on Friday when the team faces SCAD Atlanta. The conference game is set to begin at 2:00 p.m.
